Privacy Policy
Last updated: 16 July 2026
ToolsHub (toolhq.dev) is built to be private by default. This page explains, in plain language, exactly what happens to your data.
The short version
- We do not require an account and we do not ask for your name, email, or payment details.
- Most tools (JSON, JWT, resume, calculators, encoders) run entirely in your browser — the data you paste never reaches our servers.
- A few tools must use our server to work (DNS, WHOIS, SSL, HTTP headers, port check, email validator, AI). Those inputs are sent to our API, used to answer your request, and not stored.
- We show ads via Google AdSense, which uses cookies. Details are below.
What runs in your browser only
The JSON tools, JWT tools, calculators, encoders/decoders, hash and UUID generators, and the Resume Builder are pure client-side JavaScript. The text, tokens, secrets, and résumé content you enter are processed on your device and are never transmitted to us.
The Resume Builder saves your résumé in your browser's localStorage so you don't lose your work. It stays on your device, we cannot read it, and clearing your browser data deletes it. Your theme preference and any AI API key you choose to save are stored the same way.
What is sent to our server
These tools cannot work without a server, so your input is sent to our API to perform the lookup:
- DNS Lookup, WHOIS, SSL Checker, HTTP Header Inspector, Port Check, Email Validator — the domain, host, URL, or email address you enter.
- AI tools (Summarizer, Rewriter, Code Explainer) — the text you submit.
We use this only to produce your result and return it. We do not store the content of your requests in a database — the service has no user database.
Server logs
Our hosting (Amazon Web Services — CloudFront and API Gateway) records standard technical logs such as IP address, timestamp, requested URL, and user agent. These are used for security, abuse prevention, and rate limiting, and are retained only for a short period.
Cookies and advertising
Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to your website or other websites.
Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to your users based on their visit to your sites and/or other sites on the Internet.
Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info or the NAI opt-out page.
Where required by law, we ask for your consent before serving personalized ads, and you can change that choice at any time.
Third-party services we rely on
- Google AdSense — advertising. See how Google uses data.
- Amazon Web Services — hosting and content delivery.
- ipapi.co and api.ipify.org — used only by the "What's My IP" tool to determine your public IP and approximate location.
- jsDelivr — delivers the open-source model-pricing data used by the AI cost calculators.
- Anthropic — processes the text you submit to the AI tools, when those tools are enabled.
If you supply your own AI API key in a tool, that key is stored only in your browser and is sent directly from your browser to the provider you chose. It never reaches our servers.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not build user profiles or require sign-up.
- We do not store the résumés, tokens, JSON, or text you enter into client-side tools.
Children's privacy
ToolsHub is intended for a general, primarily professional audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights
Because we do not hold accounts or personal records, there is generally nothing for us to export or delete. For data held by third parties (for example, advertising cookies), use the opt-out links above or your browser's cookie controls. If you have a question or request, contact us using the details below.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site changes. The "last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version.
