Split PDF

Split a PDF by page ranges or extract pages into a new file.

How it works

Split one PDF into several. Extract a set of pages into a single new file, break it into separate files by range, or burst every page into its own PDF. Multiple outputs come back as a single ZIP.

🔒 Your file is processed entirely in this browser — it is never uploaded to a server. No signup, no watermark, no page limits.

🔒 Your document never leaves your device: unlike most online PDF tools, which upload your file to their servers, everything here runs locally in your browser. There is no upload, no account, no watermark and no page or file-count limit — so it's safe for contracts, invoices, medical records and anything else confidential.

About the Split PDF

This free PDF splitter breaks one PDF into several. You can extract a specific set of pages into a new document, split a file into separate PDFs by range, or burst every page into its own file. Multiple outputs are bundled into a single ZIP so you're not stuck clicking through download prompts.

It all runs in your browser — your document is never uploaded, with no signup and no page limits.

Three ways to split

  • By range — "1-3, 4-6" produces two separate PDFs.
  • Extract — pull selected pages into one new document.
  • Every page — turn each page into its own PDF.

Page range syntax

  • Use a dash for a range: 1-5
  • Use commas to list several: 1-3, 7, 10-12
  • Leave the end open to run to the last page: 8-

Frequently asked questions

How do I extract specific pages from a PDF?

Choose the Extract mode, type the pages you want (for example 1-3, 7), and download a new PDF containing only those pages.

Can I split a PDF into separate files?

Yes. Use the range mode to produce one file per comma-separated group, or choose the every-page mode to turn each page into its own PDF. Multiple files download together as a ZIP.

What does a range like "8-" mean?

An open-ended range runs from that page to the end of the document, so "8-" means page 8 through the last page.

Is my PDF uploaded when I split it?

No. Splitting happens entirely in your browser, so the document never leaves your device.
