CTC to In-Hand Salary Calculator
🔒 In your browserEstimate monthly take-home from CTC, with a full deduction breakdown.
How it works
Estimate your monthly take-home from an annual CTC. The calculator subtracts the usual components — the employer's PF and gratuity (which are part of CTC but never paid in hand), your own PF, professional tax, and any income tax you enter.
Income tax is left for you to enter because slabs and the old/new regime choice change yearly and depend on your declarations. Use your payslip or a tax calculator for the exact figure. Company structures vary — treat this as a close estimate.
🔒 Calculated entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded.
🔒 Calculated in your browser: your loan, investment and salary figures are never uploaded. Interest, tax and salary structures vary by bank and employer, so treat the result as a close estimate and confirm exact figures with them.
About the CTC to In-Hand Salary Calculator
This free CTC to in-hand salary calculator estimates your monthly take-home from an annual CTC. It subtracts the usual components — the employer's PF and gratuity (which are part of CTC but never paid in hand), your own PF, professional tax, and any income tax you enter — and shows a full breakdown.
It runs in your browser, so your salary details are never uploaded.
Why CTC and take-home differ
CTC is the total a company spends on you, not what lands in your account. It bundles the employer's PF contribution and gratuity, which you never receive monthly, and your gross salary still has deductions — your own PF, professional tax and income tax. In-hand salary is what remains after all of these, which is why it's noticeably lower than the CTC figure on your offer letter.
A worked example
On a ₹12,00,000 CTC with basic at 50%, the basic is ₹6,00,000. Capping PF at the ₹15,000 wage ceiling gives ₹21,600 each for employer and employee PF, and gratuity is 4.81% of basic, about ₹28,860. Subtracting the employer's PF and gratuity leaves a gross of ₹11,49,540; taking out your PF and ₹2,400 professional tax (with income tax entered separately) gives an in-hand of about ₹11,25,540 a year, or ₹93,795 a month.
Frequently asked questions
How is in-hand salary calculated from CTC?
Subtract the employer's PF and gratuity to get gross salary, then subtract your own PF, professional tax and income tax to get in-hand. This tool shows each step in a breakdown.
Why isn't income tax calculated automatically?
Tax slabs and the old-versus-new regime choice change every year and depend on your declarations and investments. To stay accurate, the calculator lets you enter your annual tax or TDS from your payslip rather than guessing a slab.
What is the PF cap option?
EPF is mandatory only on wages up to ₹15,000 a month, which caps PF at ₹1,800 a month. Many companies apply this cap; others deduct 12% of full basic. Toggle it to match your employer.
Why is gratuity subtracted from CTC?
Gratuity is a retirement benefit your employer sets aside as part of CTC, but you don't receive it monthly — so it reduces in-hand pay even though it's part of the CTC figure.
