How the difference is worked out
The calculator counts full years first, then the leftover months, then the remaining days — carrying across months of different lengths and leap years so the breakdown is exact rather than approximate. The order of the two dates doesn't matter; it always reports a positive difference. Business days are counted by taking whole weeks (5 weekdays each) plus the weekdays in the remaining part of the range.
