Getting the size right
Passport photos must be an exact physical size at a print resolution. This tool outputs at 300 DPI, so an India passport photo (35 × 45 mm) becomes 413 × 531 pixels, and a US 2 × 2 inch photo becomes 600 × 600 pixels. Because the dimensions are baked in correctly, the photo prints at the right size without stretching.
Positioning the face
- Use the zoom slider so your head fills the frame as the guidelines require, without cutting off the top of the head or the chin.
- Use the position sliders to centre the face horizontally and set the eye line at the right height.
- Keep the white-background option on unless your photo already has a plain light background.
Print a full sheet of copies
In practice you usually need several identical prints, not one. Switch the output from a single photo to a print sheet — 4×6 inch or 5×7 inch photo paper, or A4 — and the tool tiles your photo into a neat grid with a small gap for cutting.
