How WPM and accuracy are measured
Words per minute is the standard measure of typing speed, and it counts every five characters as one word — including spaces — so it doesn't matter how long the actual words are. Accuracy is the share of characters you typed that match the passage. As you type, correct characters turn green and mistakes are highlighted, so you can see exactly where you slipped.
Why accuracy matters as much as speed
A high WPM isn't much use if it comes with lots of errors, because fixing mistakes costs time and, in typing tests like those for SSC and RRB exams, errors carry penalties. Aim for high accuracy first — 95% or above — then build speed. Practising regularly on a passage like this one trains both your muscle memory and your rhythm.
